3. For the collision mode, you guys can choose

   Fine Stagger (won’t be any overlap)

   Coarse Stagger (little overlap)

Cognos 10 – Make the chart gridline invisible

1. Click the chart line

   

2. Pick gridline

   

3. Click the tick on show major gridline until the tick is gone.

   

4. Done
5. This is the position for horizontal line

   

Cognos 10 – Copy report from and to clipboard

1. Click tools -> copy report to clipboard

   

2. Copy all the text

   

3. This report text can be sent on any existing media (email, etc)
4. On the destination, click open report from clipboard (make sure that the text is on the clipboard already)

   

5. Paste and click OK

   

6. Done

1. Click the data item that want to be changed

   

2. Change the source type -> text

   

3. Change the text properties

Cognos 10 – Change Axis Legend Bar Chart Label

1. Choose axis title

   

2. Choose the to be changed axis label

   

3. Set this setting

   Default title : no

   

4. Double click the axis title and change the text label

   

5. Done

   

Cognos 10 – Using Union, intersect, except

1. Drag union

   

2. Drag queries into places

   

3. Double click the union query

   

4. Pick which one will be included in our final query

   

5. Done
6. You can use this technique for except and intersect too.

They operate by join the appropriate row. So Query 1 first row data item will be unioned / intersected / excepted with data item on Query 2 first row data item, and so on.

Cognos 10 – Using join

1. Pull the join icon

   

2. Pull the to be joined query to the two empty join box

   

3. Double click join icon

   

4. Make a line on the data that contain the same data (the column / dimension that connect em), and set the cardinality

   Hint : For cardinality, you guys can read the hint on the bottom part of the box

   

   

5. Click OK. Double click on the joined query.

   

6. Choose the included data item

   

7. Done
